Board our covered tram for a 45 minute tour out on our Kansas prairie located in the heart of the Smoky Hills where you will experience an up close and personal visit within our Bison herd. The plains Elk are out for viewing November through March. Tour guides are on board providing information about Maxwell and the Kansas Prairie's natural, cultural and historic resources. Reservations required with 3 day notice suggested to allow for scheduling staff.

A great wildlife and wild flower photo opportunity. You will board our trams at our Friends of Maxwell tour center and escorted out into the herd of Bison aboard one of our open trams for close up and distance shots of our new arrivals within the Maxwell Bison herd. You will have several opportunities to unload from the tram for distance shots so wear appropriate foot wear for walking the prairie.
